ชอยซุคบงเป็นพนักงานโรงแรม ในเครือโอซึงกรุ๊ป เขามีเพียงจี้เส้นเดียวเป็นสมบัติตกทอดที่บ่งบอกได้ว่าพ่อของเขาเป็นใคร เขามีความเชื่อมาตลอดว่าพ่อของเขาเป็นคนรวย ดังนั้นเขาจึงพยายามแสดงจี้ที่เขามีต่อสาธารณชนในสังคมคนร่ำรวยอยู่บ่อย ๆ เพื่อตามหาพ่อ เมื่อประธานโชเห็นจี้นั้นเขาก็ส่งคนติดตามความเคลื่อนไหวของชอยซุคบงอย่าง ลับ ๆ ชอยซุคบงได้พบกับลีชินมีทายาทคนเดียวของประธานลีจุงฮยอนเธอ เข้ามารับหน้าที่บริหารกิจการในโรงแรมแต่ทั้งสองไม่ค่อยลงรอยกันนักเพราะ ชอยซุคบงเคยช่วยชีวิตลีชินมีไว้จากอุบัติเหตุแต่เธอเข้าใจผิดว่าเขาช่วยเธอ ก็เพราะเงินของเธอ ชอยซุคบงตรวจร่างกายพบว่าตนเองเป็นมะเร็ง เขาต้องการเงินรักษาตัวจึงขอร้องให้ลีชินมีให้เงินเป็นการตอบแทนที่เขาช่วย ชีวิตแต่ลีชินมีกลับเข้าใจว่าชอบซุคบงโกหก
